Not impressed. Stood at the counter for solid 10 min waiting in instructions to either take our order at the, seat ourselves or be seated by the staff. Left at our table and told we would be brought menus. 15 min later, the waitress comes by to take our order. I told her we didn't have menus and she was so befuddled, what do you mean you don't have menus? Look at my hands, we weren't given menus. She then took another 10 min to bring is menus. They didn't have to advertised drinks. We got the dumplings and they were dry and tasteless. The sushi was equivalent to what you can purchase at a grocery store but priced twice as much. The other waitress was much better but the first one we had was a true space cadet. Would not go here again, even if it was the last sushi place on earth.

Absolutely fantastic! The people are polite and courteous, the food is fresh and flavorful, the prices are low, and the service is speedy. I'm actually completely surprised; don't judge by its location or its outward appearance - this is the best Chinese food in the city.

I was pleasantly surprised by this unassuming Oriental restaurant in Midwest City. The staff was wonderful and the food was spectacular! We ordered the Mongolian beef and beef with broccoli lunch meals and were blown away. The egg rolls were crisp and fresh flavored, easily a 8/10. The soups were seasoned perfectly and well presented. Even the dining area reflected the high amount of attention lavished by the staff here. If you are ever in the area and looking for an excellent Asian style meal, make sure you stop in. This place is excellent.

Chong Wah really took me by surprise. My boyfriend had to talk me into trying because I just wasn't enthusiastic about coming here, now I'm so glad he convinced me to try! We ordered the Chicken Lo-Mien with no bean sprouts, I love that we could customize the veggies in the dish and that it was made fresh so we could do so. We also ordered the orange chicken per the recommendation of our waitress. The dish had big chunks of chicken and lots of orange zest in the sauce. I think it ruined all other orange chicken for me. Make sure you ask for some of their hot mustard but use it sparingly, it'll really clear your sinuses! The portions were huge and fed both of us for two meals (which I didn't even think was possible) and the price was so reasonable. We were totally blown away by how inexpensive the meal was that we have already made plans to come back so I can try the sushi!

If you're looking for a place to excite your taste buds, this place is not it. If you're looking to get your belly full of food for cheap, this is your place. To be completely honest, this place serves extremely mediocre tasting Chinese food at a great price. As I was traveling through Midwest City I brought up Yelp to help me find the best place to stop and grab lunch with my fiancé on our way back home. I went to this place due to its high Yelp rating, but for the first time I felt betrayed by Yelp. Normally a place that has almost 5 full stars offers killer food, exceptional value, and usually gives a good heads up of where to set your expectations. I ordered the Mongolian Beef and my fiancé ordered the Peppered Steak lunch special. Lunch specials include choice of rice, choice of soup, two crab rangoon, an eggroll, and your choice of entrée, all for only $6.25. The food came out quick and hot, and the portions were large. All of these things were awesome up until I ate the food. Don't get me wrong, the food here is not bad, it just didn't wow me. I regularly eat many different types Asian cuisine, ranging from very authentic to very Americanized, and this was certainly on the very Americanized side. The entrées had way too much sauce, the flavor of the dishes were bland, and ultimately there was nothing that stood out as tasting any different than what one might expect from a typical fast-food Chinese franchise. Again, the food wasn't bad, it just wasn't great. There were a few good things that stood out about this place that raised my initial review score from a 2 to a 3. First, manager/owner was very nice and very welcoming. Second, both the dining room and restrooms were very clean and well kept. Third, the sheer amount of food for the price was great. Though ultimately my experience was pleasant, the point of my review is to post an unbiased non-resident review of this place for others traveling in the area. I am sure this place is superior to other Chinese restaurants in the Midwest City area as the other reviews scores may indicate, but from my standpoint as a traveler this place absolutely did not give me a "must go back to this city to eat here again" experience.

I literally just came home, finished my takeout order and had to write this. Leaving the NYC area and moving to OK has been bittersweet as my husband and I could literally walk to all the food places we wanted. Now that we kinda live out there, I didn't think I could find a place to satisfy my Japanese itch until I read the reviews for this place. I can't tell you how many times I passed by without thinking anything of it. They have a pretty extensive sushi menu that's super affordable considering you get eight pieces (say what)!! The wait time was fast and the food was really fresh. They also have a nice Chinese/Asian section where you pick your meat and then the things you want (e.g. pad thai, chow mein, broccoli, etc.). They also have all day and daily specials. I'm sure we'll be coming back for more food. Maybe we'll dine in considering the place isn't over crowded and kept clean. The staff was very nice and attentive.

My last review was a year ago so I figured I would update it. I love this place. The food is consistently good and the service is great. The staff is super friendly. It's been open for about 2 years now and It has remained pretty consistent whether take-out or dining in. We do one or the other at least a couple of times a month.

Now the building and parking lot are a little dated, but the cleanliness, the food and service make up for it! This place has very affordable lunch and daily special options with super yummy food. Flavor is the big difference between Chong Wah and most other nearby Chinese restaurants. They know what seasoning is and how to use it to wow your tastebuds. If you want something a little spicy just ask and they will be sure to accommodate you. I don't really like the seaweed sushi wrap so the manager suggested I try the Chong Wah Sushi Roll with a Tofu Wrap and I was hooked! The staff is friendly and welcoming. They make sure to give all their customers the VIP treatment. Go by today and see for yourself what you've been missing!

Great place for Asian food. The lunch specials are fast, delicious and hearty. The sushi is good and you can't beat 2 rolls (including the fancy ones) and soup for $10. Tammy, the owner is welcoming and gracious. This is a great little restaurant in Midwest City that not a lot of people know about. My personal favorite dish is the beef fried rice ($8 and change huge portion) which is the best I've had in the state. Do yourself a favor and stop by Chong Wah for lunch or dinner.

Updated review. I went back to this restaurant to finally get my Sweet and Sour Pork. I was notified that since no one orders it they removed it from the menu. I was very disappointed. I did however order a different meal as the restaurant was packed with people and their menu looked great. I was not disappointed. I ordered some Pad Thai and it was fantastic. The serving was huge and I had enough for lunch the following day. I will go back at a later date. But my search for an excellent Sweet and Sour Pork continues. So far the best has been P. F. Changs.

This is for sure the best place near Spencer to eat. The food is great but being the best place in the area leaves them overly busy and understaffed most of the time. If you are there outside of the rush hours, this is a 5 star place, but during they are just way too understaffed for their quantity of patrons and take out orders.

Honestly, this place has better sushi than almost anyplace around the OKC area. The food here is amazing! Even if you take home something hot (for example General Tso's chicken) and you heat it up the next day, it is still amazing! Tammy, one of the waitresses, is such an amazing kind-hearted person. She really cares about you, and your experience! The younger waitresses that work there... honestly not so much. I understand though that they are probably in high school, and that's why they can be rude, or forgot to refill drinks, but that still doesn't stop me from getting the food! You also are able to get it to go and pick it up from the drive through! I have been eating here since the day they have opened, and the food has always been my favorite Chinese place since.

Chong Wah is our new go to Chinese place, I wish we tried them out sooner as we're moving out of the area. The owner was super friendly!! She even brought our toddler a special toddler plate and was so sweet with her. The food was fast and delicious and you get so much for the price. I can't wait to go back and try the sushi!

Place is clean, staff is super friendly and the food is made fresh to order. Very good, super fresh sushi and tuna. Udon noodles and pad Thai very good. They also have all your traditional Americanized Chinese food, sweet door chicken, general chicken, sesame chicken, egg rolls etc...which they all do very well.

This was our second time visiting this Grill. First time, I had the Dragon Roll (photo taken). Tonight I had the Volcano Roll. Service was fast, staff is very courteous, and the food was just as good as the first time.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
